Khajjiar is a small but astoundingly beautiful hill station in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. Located near Dalhousie this little entrancing hill station is located at a height of 1,920 m above the sea level. This is a historic town with its history dating back to the 12th century. The town is named after its heritage historic temple known as Khajji Nag – which has been a pilgrimage for people from nearby regions. One may encounter snowfall in Khajjiar in the later half of December and January. Sometimes snow falls are just too heavy and may block the road ways. Winters are from November to March and temperature usually varies from 5 °C to 25 °C. One of the best parts about this town is that you can visit it anytime of the year – in summers this place will be extremely pleasant.
The majestic lake which shares the name with this stunning hill station gets completely frozen out during peak winters. Covered with a snow blanket, it makes a wonderful attraction among the tourists who love to take a stroll on this frozen pure white lake.
